A senior Human Resources, Health and Safety and Sustainability professional with more than twenty years of experience in leading and transforming organizations. Her approach to work is driven by great passion for: enabling organizations to achieve their ultimate potential through engaged and competent people, outstanding leaders, clear vision and high-performing teams. Samar possesses years of experience in Human Resources and sustainability across geographies and diverse industries.

Today at Carrefour, Samar is responsible for leading the Human Capital and sustainability functions, ensuring effective development and implementation of human capital and talent strategies across seventeen markets. She is also driving the culture transformation journey building a fit-for-purpose, values-led, high-performance organization.

Before joining Majid Al Futtaim, she held the role of Vice President – Human Resources, Health and Safety and General Affairs for the Eastern Hemisphere at Nissan Motor Corporation, based in Paris. Before that, she spent fifteen years with Baker Hughes, a General Electric Company based in Houston, Texas, where she held various leadership roles, latest was the Global Human Resource Senior Executive.

As an advocate for women in the work environment, she was recognized as one of the 2023 Middle East Inspirational Women in Leadership, second year in a row by House of Rose Professional Pte. Ltd.

Samar holds an MBA from the American University of Sharjah, UAE, and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from Cairo University, Egypt.
